Nightwatch vs AnswerLine
Nightwatch is a keyword rank tracker that added AI-answer tracking to its dashboard. AnswerLine is the data layer: answers, SERPs and sources as JSON per request.
Model and coverage
| Nightwatch | AnswerLine | |
|---|---|---|
| Product shape | An SEO dashboard: keyword rankings, site audits and AI tracking reports. | An API: rank tracking and AI answers in the same JSON contract, for your own tools and reports. |
| AI engines | AI tracking covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. | ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode, Google Search with its AI Overview, and Google News (Perplexity and Grok built, paused). |
| Classic SERP | Keyword positions in its dashboard across locations. | Full Google SERP as JSON: organic results, ads, People Also Ask, local pack, knowledge graph and the AI Overview in one response. |
Pricing
| Nightwatch | AnswerLine | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Starter €79/month: 500 keywords and 50 AI prompts tracked daily. | 500 / month, no card. |
| Mid tier | Professional €159 (2,500 keywords, 150 AI prompts), Agency €399 (7,500 keywords, 500 AI prompts). | Flat $/credit on every paid plan; Google Search calls and assistant answers price per request, not per keyword bundle. |
When each fits
Nightwatch fits SEO teams who live in a rank-tracking UI and want AI answers as an extra column. An API fits teams feeding positions and answers into their own product, warehouse or client reporting pipeline.
500 AI prompts a month is a monthly bundle; as requests it is a small per-call cost, and each response keeps the full SERP or answer and its sources rather than a dashboard cell.
