ZipTie vs AnswerLine
ZipTie is an AI search tracker: monthly bundles of 'checks' across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, plus content-optimization credits. AnswerLine is the collection layer — answers and sources as JSON per request.
Model and coverage
| ZipTie | AnswerLine | |
|---|---|---|
| Product shape | A tracker: a monthly check budget spent on monitoring prompts across engines, with AI data summaries and content optimizations. | An API: one request returns one engine's answer as JSON, for your own tracking, research or features. |
| AI engines | Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. | ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode, Google Search with its AI Overview, and Google News (Perplexity and Grok built, paused). |
| Units | One check covers one prompt across all three engines; 500–2,000 checks per plan per month. | One credit per engine answer — collect only the engines you need, at whatever cadence. |
| API access | Not listed as a plan feature; the product is the dashboard. | It is the product. SDKs, n8n node and a hosted MCP server on every plan, free included. |
Pricing
| ZipTie | AnswerLine | |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | 14 days free: 75 AI searches. | 500 / month, no card. |
| Tiers | Basic $69/mo (500 checks), Standard $99/mo (1,000), Pro $159/mo (2,000); custom plans above that. | Paid plans from the Lite tier; every paid plan yields the same $/credit, so cost is linear in requests. |
When each fits
ZipTie fits SEOs whose core question is Google AI Overviews — it was one of the first tools to track them. An API fits teams that want more engines per prompt, the raw answer text and source list per check, or the data inside their own product rather than a dashboard.
Check bundles force monthly planning: 50 prompts monitored daily across three engines is ~1,500 checks, above the Standard tier. Per-request pricing charges only for the answers actually collected, per engine, on whatever schedule the job needs.
